Terms of Use

Last updated 21st October 2026

1. About the Digital RHIMM

The Digital Race Health Inequalities Maturity Matrix (RHIMM) is a self-assessment and continuous improvement tool designed to help organisations reflect on their approach to reducing race health inequalities, identify areas for development, create action plans and review progress over time. It is intended to support organisational learning and improvement in relation to structural racism and race health inequalities.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, accessing or using the Digital RHIMM, you agree to use the platform responsibly and in accordance with these Terms of Use and any guidance provided within the platform. If you are using the Digital RHIMM on behalf of an organisation, you should only do so where you are authorised to act for that organisation.

3. Intended use

The Digital RHIMM is provided for organisational self-assessment, reflection, action planning, and progress monitoring. It should be used as an improvement resource and not as a performance rating, accreditation scheme or substitute for an organisation’s own governance, legal, equality or professional responsibilities.

4. User accounts and access

Access to the Digital RHIMM is provided through user accounts. Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure and should not share passwords or allow another person to use their account. Access should only be used for the organisation or workplace for which the user has registered or is authorised to act.

5. Information entered into the platform

When you register to use the Digital RHIMM, you may be asked for limited information needed to create and manage your account and link you to the appropriate organisation. Assessment responses, supporting evidence and action plans may also be recorded within the platform.

Please do not enter patient, service-user or other unnecessary personal or confidential information into the platform. Where evidence is added, users should make sure it is suitable for inclusion and that they are authorised to use it for the RHIMM assessment and action-planning process.

6. How information may be used

Information entered into the platform is used to support organisational self-assessment, action planning, and progress tracking. Registered users can access information and assessments associated with their account. User, assessment and system information may also be accessed by authorised administrators where required for platform administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and user support.

Information may also be used to support wider monitoring, evaluation and learning. Any wider use or reporting of information will be handled in line with applicable data protection and privacy requirements.

7. Data protection and security

Personal information must be handled in line with applicable data protection requirements. Users must also take reasonable steps to protect information they access through the platform, including keeping login details secure and not downloading, copying or sharing information inappropriately.

Information about how personal data is used will be provided through the relevant privacy information for the platform.

8. Organisational responsibility

Each participating organisation remains responsible for how it completes its assessment, agrees its maturity rating, develops actions and uses the results. The Digital RHIMM supports reflection and improvement, but the quality and impact of the process depend on organisations using the findings to inform meaningful action and regularly returning to review progress.

9. Appropriate use of platform content

The RHIMM framework, guidance and platform content should be used to support the intended assessment and improvement process. Users should not deliberately alter, misuse or represent platform information in a misleading way.

10. Platform availability, support and changes

The Digital RHIMM may be updated as the platform and guidance develop. Maintenance and support arrangements will follow the agreed service arrangements. Users should use the published support route for access problems, technical issues or questions about use of the platform.

11. Suspension of access

Access may be restricted or removed where this is necessary to protect the platform, its information or other users, or where an account is being used in a way that is inconsistent with these Terms of Use. Access should also be reviewed when a user no longer requires access or is no longer authorised to act on behalf of the organisation associated with their account.

12. Questions and contact

Questions about using the Digital RHIMM, account access, information governance or technical support should be directed through the agreed support/contact route published on the platform.

13. Relationship with Master Services Contract

In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy between these Terms of Use and the Master Services Contract, the Master Services Contract will take precedence.
